I'm all for traveling before going to college. Once you've gone out and seen the world, I think you'll be so much more open to new ideas and things you're studying. Those "foreign students" will be interesting people to mine for information on their countries. You will find yourself more tolerant of others of different cultures, you'll be able to understand the professors' accents better... you name it! You will simply be a person who is better equipped to handle college.

And if you keep on traveling for months and months and don't get back to school for much longer than you'd expected to take off....well, so? Who cares? It's your life, after all.

I say go for it!!!

Hi Rozza,

Feel free to check out my website for countries I think are cool (see below). Although, having been to Scotland, you've already hit one of my faves...

Hey Rozza, I totally agree with WWM, I really wish I had taken a year to travel before college, I think it would have made alot of my academic experiances alot richer (not to sound like too much of a nerd, haha.)

I'm taking a semester next fall or spring to backpack in europe and absolutely cant wait. About cool countries- my favorite that I have been to is hands down New Zealand. gorgeous scenery, great people, lots to do, its the perfect place for an adventurous person in my opinion

Hi there Rozza
Looking back I wish I had a break between school and uni. I kind of got sick of studying and it took me 4 years instead of 3 to finish my degree.

You just gotta have the will power to go back to studying after an awesome time travelling!!
