I LOVE Maggie Moos....My favourite is Vanilla Bean with snow caps mixed in...

Yum. I don't eat too much ice cream here though, which is a good thing and my ass is thankful.

Allright this isn't Ice cream or Gelato, but since I have been here in Italy, I have created the greatest dessert know to man or woman.

Nutella, Chunky Peanut Butter, Mashed up Banana, Coco Crispies all mixed together. Consistency what ever you please. Get a piece of foil and lay it out. THen spread the mixture into a roll(acutally, make it look like a huge nutty piece of shit, sorry for the mental pic) Then, fold the foil over. Freeze for about an hour, and then slice.

AMAZING!!!!

Ooooooooh how I'd love to find some Strachiatella (sp?) here in Ontario....mmmm sooooooo good *insert drool here*

but as for the dishes I can actually get here moosetracks is damn good...just had that yesterday actually...til my brothers finished off the tub (we just got it YESTERDAY goddamn! I guess that's the pain of having 3 brothers...), I love vanilla but really only when it's not too creamy and you can see the chunks of vanilla bean in there, like Bryer's black tub ice cream, but since they made it more creamy a year or so ago the 30% less fat type, and I like fruit flavoured ice creams quite a bit as well, particularily mango mmmmmm

Stracciatella!
:greenguy: E N J O Y!
Stracciatella

50g bitter chocolate in flakes
200g milk
200g heavy cream
4 egg yolks
150g sugar
a few grain of salt

Put the milk into a small saucepan and bring almost to a boil. Remove from heat, cover and let stand for 15 minutes. Take out the vanilla bean and let the milk cool. Mix the yolks with the sugar and salt beating until well blended. Then add the milk and the cream: Pour into pre-cooled icecream maker ans set the timer for 30 minutes. When the ice cream begins to set,add the bitter chocolate flakes prepared in advance.Serve the ice cream in chilled dessert cups and decorate with finle-sliced candied cherries soaked in brandy.

Mm I love gelato because it has no dairy and thus doesnt make me thirsty. Best for hot days.

My best gelato experience was hiking through the towns of cinque terre. I had a one in town #2, best ive ever had.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm gelato........

Gelato's been getting veeery trendy around these parts lately. Im too afraid that I'll go get some and it wont be the same as the ambrosia I had abroad so I dont. My friends have been known to call me a pretentious pain in the ass but Im ok with it really....

well, you know... I fell in love with moroccan food and have been let down too many times. so I leave the foods I love in the countries where I met them and then I cant be let down.

I don't get why those Girl Scout cookies are called Samoas. I mean, it's not like they're made of taro root or pork or anything. Nor are they ridiculously huge and strong and ready to kick you out of line for having a fake ID. But I guess they'd taste good mashed into a gelato...
