^ exactly,
I think it really depends on lifestyle. Of course theres always a line you cross where it doesnt matter what youre doing or where you are, its just too much.

Also, some people can handle a bunch of drinks and be normal. Drunk, but fairly normal.
I have friends though that are like " I can drink a ton. I can drink more than anyone" kind of mindsets, which is like , "Yeah, you can drink a bunch sure. But the whole time you have to be babysat, your obnoxious, violent, and in general just a dick." I don't consider them drinking much to be a good thing at all since it is not enjoyable to anyone. However, I have other friends who pack it away and are harmless and still plenty of fun.
I think it depends on how your are, or who you are while drinking heavily.

I used to be able to drink 8 beers and not feel it. Then in China, I woild drink beer with a whisky chaser...cheap, cheap whisky I bought from home combined with bottles and cans of cheap cheap Chinese beer. Nowadays I have decided to hold back on my drinking. I drink a beer or 2 sometimes. Most days I don't drink alchol at all.
Dude, why not try not drinking for a week and then see how you feel. If you don't need it than it shouldn't be that bad.

I don't drink anything at all, not even a sip. I think I'd be the cheapest date!
I did used to drink (that makes me sound like I'm a recovering alcoholic!), but decided that after doing the whole "woo yeah, I'm gonna get as drunk as possible" for a couple of years, I was actually kind of bored with it. I also came to the realisation that I don't actually like alcohol at all. So, I completely gave it up, and haven't regretted it since.
The only thing is I stopped drinking at 17, so have never actually had a legal drink! But, it saves me a shit load of money, I never have hangover, and I actually have a pretty great time when I go out anyway. Plus, I get to laugh at my drunk friends and tell them all about the stupid things they did the next day!

I think either a.) dude drinks too much or b.) he thinks it's cool to be able to consume that much. If it's broken down day by day it doesn't appear to be that bad but the total sum is, well, pretty hardcore!
For me, 1 glass of wine = happy tipsy.
- 2 glasses of wine = *really* happy tipsy/drunk.
- 3 glasses of wine = drunk as hell and the happiness is short-lived because I know I'll regret it later.
I usually only drink about one day per week but sometimes that changes depending on where I am and/or who I'm with. (And a lot of times I don't even drink that often, it's not uncommon for me to go several weeks in a row without drinking anything alcoholic. Strange, I know, but when I'm home alone it doesn't occur to me.) Usually I cannot do two back-to-back crazy nights out. 3 or 4 drinks, depending on how strong they are, is pretty much my limit. 5 drinks usually becomes barfing territory.

One other factor is size. This amount would be nothing to Andre the Giant. He would put down a bottle of JD like a glass of water. So tell me Echeverry, are you a 7'5, 500lbs Monster??

Your only supposed to have something like 10 units of alcohol a week. There's one unit in a short and two in a pint.
ONE glass of wine a day with food is fine, beer is very bad for you because it's full of sugar. We've been getting shit about drinking in Ireland for the past few years so I've heard all this stuff over and over.
Drinking 3 bottles of Vodka over a week is still way to much. I don't drink during the week atall (well rarely) When I go out I'd drink about 8 pints, few glass of Jameson and red, maybe a few V&Rbull and probabley a bottle of wine before I go out. That's way to much and I feel like shit for the next two days. But Irish people binge drink at the weekend that's just the way it is here and it's a problem. It's more or less the same in england except we can hold our drink better .
I think Alcohol is one of the worst drugs there is, it's makes a mess of your head and body, you act like a complete nob and the next day is hell.

ive spent many years on the pop now, and one of the things that disturbs me most is the idea that now i can only go out and enjoy myself if i have a drink. That to me seems so narrow minded and ignorant, and yet after 10 years in a booze fuelled essex culture it really seems to be the truth.
When i'm on holiday i find it so simple and natural to only drink one or two when i go out. That combined with a much healthier diet has the effect of an almost spiritual rebirth
at the end of the day, a piss up can be a great laugh, but there is in fact more to life than drinking, or partying, or even travelling, and like they say in vanilla sky, ''the sweet is never so sweet without the sour''.

TO be honest I know what I drink and for me Vodka is not that big of a deal I can carry myself perfectly sober when I drink even if I mix, normally it happens that I get a few drinks and then I'm good( happy tipsy mood) I don't drink beer all the time but normally when I'm with the boys we finish up "chugin'" or the classic "butt's D" I mean I know when I have to stop, and honestly I really don't happen to like being drunk-DruNK (rare for it to happen). Why do I smoke?
Well when I was 16 all my friends were like getting drunk within the first 2 rounds and I was still sober. . . really sober, so I just found out that smoking would give some velocity to the process, or even better placed; "State". So yeah I finished up smoking and I do get tipsy really fast and stay like that for atleast 3 hours if I control it with the smoking.

First of all other that verbal arguements (debates)I don't enjoy any other type of confrontation. Just to have something clear, I do not drink if not socially and I happen to be a very good drinker when it comes to my behavior. And yes I tend to flirt alot when drinking but I'm never rude nor unpolite in any manner. :greenguy:

O.K wine I only drink it when I munch. . . I counted sake as wine I think.
And chill I have gone from 3 packs a day when I used to be in Florida to a loosey or 2 per day.
Also I must point out that most of the wines are from my grandmother's personal collection (It's for free). And also the fact that most of the drinks I get them at the clubs so therefore it's mostly comp'd. SO chill I don't spend more than 75$ on liquor, oh and a mayor reason why I don't smoke that much now. . . . T H E E V I L T A X E S O F D O O M ! :greenguy:

Jolly good, I'm not one to preach, but it's good that you cut down a bit on smoking at least.

YES...yes you do drink too much. i used to drink like that until i realized that i would eventually end up like both my brothers...alcoholics w/ no real way of stopping. so i quit drinking like that about 2 years ago...and smoking. now i'm pretty much like jeanie. i drink about one day a week with an occasional drunken party. and when i'm out to dinner i usually try a local brew or a glass of wine just for the taste.
hey, i say party while you're young, but have a plan for when you're going to have to stop drinking like that some day. it's a hard habit to break.

i would say that you would be on the low side of average for people in college drinking. i mean id say i go out 5 nights a week, average 8-10 beers during the day to late afternoon, start drinking either bourbon and coke or redbull and vodka prior to going to the bar and then at least 2 more drinks at the bar (and an occaisonal adderall), and i would put this at average fraternity alcohol consumption. maybe its only like this in south, i dont know...
