does anyone have any advice on them and which ones to go to. And what is the netherlands policy on smoking weed on the streets?

Any cafe there will have what you are looking for, especially in the RedLight District.
Not sure about smoking weed in the streets, but surely in every cafe you can since they sell weed in just about all of them. Brownies too.
Imagine a booth in the corner with shelves in the background and plastic containers with different labels showing you what kind of weed or hash is in each. A kid in the candy store.
