I will be going to the French alps mid April with my dad to do some skiing. I've been looking at websites but there are so many hills to choose from I don't know where to start. We want to go somewhere that's not too expensive and would prefer to stay close to a hill rather than a hotel in Grenoble then an hour bus ride to the hill each day. Does anyone know where to search on the net and what hills and accomodations are good deals???

Of all places, I actually found some great deals for hotels around Chamonix a few years back on Expedia. That might be a good starting point to get an idea for hotel costs in the area.
