So I have been Europe. France, Amsterdam, Italy. I didn't have time for the other countries there.
Well I am in the very early stages of planning my next voyage. I work full time so I have limited time wherever I choose to go. Looking at 1-1/2 weeks might be able to stretch it out to 2, but no longer unfournately.
So My intial thoughts of places to go are in no particular order:
1. Ireland/London
2. Australia
3. Oktoberfest/ Switz
Any other places that I should check out? What are the hot spots in these locations. Keep in mind I plan on taking a trip like this at least once a year for next few years. I want to see as much of this big world as I can.
Thanks again for your help, you made my last trip really easy. More importantly you made it fun!!!!!!!

I would go with 1 or 3 since you only have 2 weeks. I don't think you would do Australia justice in 2 weeks. I have been to Dublin, London, Switzerland, and Munich and I can say that they are all awesome.
1. London is EXPENSIVE. You need at least 4-5 days there to see the main sites. I spent 7 days there and covered most of what I wanted to see.
2. Switzerland is a beautiful country. I have been to Bern, Interlaken, Lucerne, and Engelberg. Highly reccomended.
3. Munich. I have not been there for Oktoberfest but it is still a great city. Best beer I have ever had period. Cool people, lots of cool stuff, concentration camp, oh yeah and BEER.
4. Dublin. All I have to say is awesome. The Guinness is great, the people are VERY friendly, beautiful city. I am definately going back to see the rest of Ireland.
Hope this helps! Let me know if I can help you out more.

If you go to Oktoberfest this coming year, I will meet you there. I already have resi's for a hostel the weekend of the 27th of September. If you really want to go in 2006 you better make plans soon because the hostels fill up real early. I had trouble finding one at all.

If you are at a point in your life when you will likely only be able to take a few weeks off a year for traveling, then I would not discount Australia. I did two weeks there last year. Sure, I would have loved to have had a few months there, but it is still better to see some of Australia in 2 weeks time than never to see it all if you keep waiting for the 'perfect' time.
My feeling is that Australia is the farthest away and likely the most difficult for you to travel to from a money and time perspective. Were I you, that alone would put it at the top of my list to knockoff first, as it seems there is more risk of never seeing it if you push it off, hoping to have more time in the future. Whatever your choice...good luck!!

I would just add about Australia, that it depends on where you're flying from. It took me 2 1/2 days to go (from the north american east coast), so almost 5 days for the roundtrip. And the jet lag lasts a few days as well...

Ja, die Oktoberfest ist schonn, baby!
Germany is great in the fall, but rainy. Bring a good coat and umbrella. As far as Switzerland, it ain't cheap. Never the less, it's beautiful.
If you do Germany, where else would you plan on staying or seeing? Or would you just do Munich?

We'll have to plan a meetup when it gets closer. Oops, I'm hijacking.
