I was curious... I am plannning on going to do the whole backpack/eurorail thing for about two months (sometime between early June and late Aug). How much money should i have for spending/hotels/general... i already have the plan ticket and euro rail covered. Also, i was thinking of going to ibiza or mykonos to party for 3 or 4 days.. good idea?? AND, what is the likely hood i can meet up with other people my age over there that are traveling or involved with TravelPunk?

ya know i am not trying to change your mind or anything but heavily consider South America loop. It freakin rocks man. And you'll have way different experiences than anyone who goes to europe. Not to mention you practically force yourself to travel again some other year to get europe in.
thats my two bits. |
well i'm planning to head over in july i have 6k so far but i want at least 15k my first stop will be spain for the running of the bulls then work my way slowly up to scotland were i will be working for a WEE while...this is my first travels and i am probably going alone unless i can con a mate to come but there all piss heads or pussy wipped and got no money...so i would be keen on meeting up with someone so if your still around closer to the date we might be able to work somthing out.

My friend and I are considering two months from June- August. We are still planning all of our stops and such. All I really have to worry about is food and souvenirs. My friends mom knows a General Manager for Holiday Inns, so if that country has one we get to stay for free or really cheap. If the country does not have one, he finds us somewhere else to stay. However this might be gay, my friend and I are spending 4 nights in Dublin in a B&B, I called and can't book until Feburary. I'm not too chill to meet up with strangers, but what the hay! We happen to be somewhere around the same time, we can give it a shot.
Happy Holidays, Mike |
I had no idea so much money was required!?!
For two months, how much money would I need? |
Quote:
hotels = expensive hostels / camping out = cheap planes = expensive trains = cheap resteraunts = expensive grocery stores = cheap get the picture? |
I'm going to Europe for 6 weeks with as much over $4500 as I can take. I can live frugally but any extra spending money (most of which will be spent in bars I can assure you) will be nice but I've budgeted between US$70-75 (depends on the euro when I get there) which is what most people on this site will recommend.
