Well linked!

yes I bring a sundress... something that can double as a day thing and a night thing... and flip flops generally work for shoes with that dress... I NEVER bring high heels... nor a hair dryer... or anything like that.

Totally agree with MG. A sarong is a wonderful thing as well - can be used as a skirt, dress, shawl or beach blanket. I practically lived in mine in Europe.

The one thing I regretted not packing for Europe was a long skirt (like the flowing hippie ones). That's all I saw locals wearing for the most part. I stuck out like sore thumb in jeans and band tee-shirts

Guide to packing

I got a lot of wear out of a knee length skirt. It could be dressed up, and down, and was also a good length if I wanted to go into St. Peter's Basilica or other cathedrals that had restrictions. Another thing that might be useful is a little purse for going out during the night. It can easily fit in the bottom of your bag, but I guess it all depends what you use during the day. If you have comfy flip-flops, my friend wore hers to death out there!
