haha, i thought a-dam souvenir was some sort of slang for an STD or something, that wouldn't have been very cool

as for the weed smuggling - i have no idea...yep, i'm full of helpful information

I wouldn't even bother to try.
there's nothing like getting arrested and locked up in a foreign country.

You can bet that when they see your flight originated in A'dam, the customs folks will give your stuff extra special attention. I've heard great things about American jails, though.

nope, I know better than to even try something like that.
the thought of being jailed somewhere where you may not be able to even communicate with your jailers isn't a good one to me.

Yup. I got my shit TOSSED both in London and San Francisco after they saw my itinerary included Amsterdam.

Hell, one time I came back home from London and the customs goon kept asking me, "Are you SURE you didn't go anywhere else? Like Amsterdam?" (Fuckwits apparently don't know you can get herb just as easily in Brixton...)

Here's my standard answer...

First off, it's not worth the risk - not because of jail time, but because you'll have your damn passport and traveling privileges revoked. How much would THAT suck?

Secondly, if you can't get weed in your hometown - unless you're in Indonesia or Greece or something - you need to start networking a bit.

Exactly what I was going to say. I don't even smoke weed and I know at least 4 or 5 places I could get it in the next half hour if I wanted to.

He's right about getting your passport and traveling privileges revoked. Seriously dude- NOT WORTH IT.

Just enjoy them while you're there, dude. They're not worth the trouble you could get into. Always assume the worst will happen!

if you travel by train through another country (i did from adam to, belgium, to france, to italy) you can always take some space cake snacks and they work well to bring. i did though bring with about 2.5 g's , as i was told by an older brit who visits the dam every month that you could make it w/o question as long as you don't exceed 3 g's, unless your headed to england, then don't try to bring anything, or by flight to anywhere, i'd forget it. i'm not saying occassionally i didn't get nervous, but if your a chick they tend to not bother you, or it could've just been me?
but i have many friends who always mail stuff back when they visit and it always arrives... so if you wanna go that way...you can use an alias to mail or a friend.
yeah though, its probably better to just enjoy it while your since its such an easy thing to buy most everywhere!

I had a friend bring some hash from amsterdam, right after 9-11, and he got it through. and it was some good stuff!

Here is the trick:

A friend of mine sent me some hash from amsterdam in the mail, and it worked. so if you want to try it go ahead. He was living in amsterdam for a year and he will send me some every month.

This is how he did it.

He would send me a post card, and he would put some hash on the back of the stamp, he would buy the big stamps or he would put two stamps. And mail it just on regular mail.

He would not put my name on the card just incase someone would get it. but he would put my address.

When I went to amsterdam those are the gifts i was sending home, only to friends of mine that will really appreciate a puff here in there.

It is a great trick.

Yeah, the first time I ever partook of any hash was when a friend's older brother had sent it home inside an unmarked birthday card from Amsterdam.

The postal service is probably one of the greatest stealth tools out there. Did you know that when they shipped the Hope Diamond to the Smithsonian, they did it via US Mail? That way no one knew where it was in transit...

I know people who've brought stuff out of Amsterdam (not a lot just the makings) but that was inside Europe.

It's all a question of luck, if they search your bag or not or if the dogs are on duty that day. I wouldn't risk it going to America though you do have some of the strictest laws in the western world on Cannabis, if you really have to. Post it. You can still get caught just as easily as carring it trough yourself, they do check the post for drugs and bombs so there's no guarantee.

Don't put your address on the card.

I took the train from A'dam to Hannover, and there was a guy in my compartment who got a pretty good search when we got to the border, so it seems risky to me, even by train.

It's Travel Smart, not Travel Dumbass buddy...
Sure, there's always a chance you can get something through customs. Canada has some very liberal pot laws, but they don't too kindly about you bringing any across the border into Canada...yet my brother tried and succeeded, but I always thought him a friggin' idiot for trying. You can get weed (with few exceptions) anywhere. Is it really worth risking up to jail for a few grams of weed or for some spacecakes? I would think not. But hey, keep on trying because I think idiots like you should have all the freedoms in the world...hope you get caught next time.

I wouldn't even try it. Risking jail time to get high a few times? nah, not for me.

I'd even be nervous about carrying it via rail. When I was heading into Switzerland from Italy I got hasseled by customs pretty bad. They searched my main pack my day pack, asked where I had been on my whole trip, how many days in each city. It was pretty intense!!

The funny thing is that right after they finished bugging me this woman came up to me and thanked me. It turns out she had forgotten her baby daughter's passport I just hope that was the real story and she hadn't kidnapped the child. She then asked me to baby sit for about 25mins as she went for a smoke break. I guess she was jonesing after all the stress from the guards.
