Moving to spain.

I am moving to spain with two friends and their infant son. They want a good, clean place to raise a child. We all want a laid back, progressive place to start a new life.
I love Barcelona, but we might like something smaller?
any suggestions.

if your not in a huge rush to settle, why not travel spain for a month or so to find the right city.

give Valencia a try! It's a lovely place, not even close to half as crowded as barcelona and very clean. I loved it there. But I would do as zylah suggested and travel around first to see what you like.

Hey Joan, why wait? It's easier to move when the little ones are little! (I have some small experience in the matter!)

I really like Zylah's idea! Traveling around until you find your perfect city would be ideal!

I would recommend (in addition to Barcelona, of course, my favorite!) - Granada. It's a historical, progressive, beautiful city, with lots a resources and large University community.

But if you want really small towns, then look up the smaller cities in the Northwest and North - Salamanca, etc...
