Hi lancemaria,
When are you going?
I guess the usual spots to hit are: Madrid, Barcelona, San Sabastian, Valencia, Ibiza (if you have the money)
Personally I have only been to Madrid, Barcelona and Pamplona (which is apparently a quiet little town during ordinary time, ie. not san fermin)
Madrid is a small, clean town - not too much to see, but it is nice to chill here and relax, and party at night.
Barcelona is a massive, sprawling city - lots to see and do both day and night.

Madrid has a lot to see if you are an art lover. Otherwise it is just a nice city to roam around in and to leave (close proximity to nice smaller towns)

I absolutely loooved Alhambra in Granada! It's like a complex of many Arabic palaces, built each on top of another for years and years. Granada is the last spot with an Arabic reign until 1492, when they were defeated and kicked out. The architecture is mindblowing.. And Granada itself is beautiful. Just try to get your ticket reservations well in advance cause everyone goes there. If you cant do this, get to the ticket center early in the morning!

San Sebastian is an amazing city that you really should not miss, it's a small tawn full of culture, and it's great if you want to do a little surfing. As for Madrid I was sick the whole time I was there so it's doesn't hold the best place in my heart I would love to go back sometime soon and experience it in a different light,
Barcelona was one of my favorite cities, night lif is great and the art in the city is amazing, Good Luck with your travels.
