I was wondering if any one has been to Queens day in Amsterdam on April 30th and would it be worth going to if I was in the area?
thanks

I haven't been there around that time of year, but by every account it's supposed to be Amsterdam's biggest party. I say check it out.. why not?

Orange is the national color and on queens day, Every single dutch person will have orange on and everywhere. It is also the one day of the year that the local govt. allows anyone and everyone to sell there wears on the streets. Turns into one huge party/street sale. The canals have more boats than you could ever imagine, Basically the biggest party of the year.

I was in Belgium at the time of Queens day and I was a little disappointed I missed out on all the fun after the stories I heard about it. A case of just short of 'right place, right time' I'm afraid!

Never been to Holland for Queens Day, but I used to live with like 30 dutch kids and they got down for the fiesta. They bought every orange christmas light in town and used orange chalk to cover the entire apt complex. It was amazig with just 30, I cant even begin to think what it would be like with the whole country...you should definitely go
