so i just got back yesterday and i'm already ready to leave again. i have a friend who lives outside manchester and wants me to go there on my next trip here's my question i don't know many things to do in manchester like i did in london and heck i didn't get to do everything i wanted to in london in a week. so should i look into doing like 5 days in dublin and 2 in manchester? or what is you ideas?

Well, if you have a friend there, he/she can definitely give you all the inside info on what to see/do/eat/drink etc. while you're there. How 'bout three days in Dublin and 4 in Manchester with your friend? Great for the budget if you can sleep on your friend's couch! I recently spent about 5 days in Belgium, staying with relatives in Brussels. The original plan was to stay a few nights at the coast, but the free beds offset the transportation costs to drive out there. And I got local experts to show me around.

Liverpool's more fun than Manchester... right Beergal?

Then again, it's only 45 min. away by train, so you might consider that as a cool thing to do nearby.

I don't think Manchester's anywhere near as interesting as London, but it's a helluva lot cheaper, there's some good nightlife to be found, and there's the infamous Curry Mile if you're into Indian food.

I think 4-5 days in Dublin is good, but I'd give Manchester 3-4 days if possible, to get a bare minimum feel for the city and its surrounds.

yeah i definately prefer Liverpool as there is so much stuff to do here while we are waiting to be capital of culture 08!
