Heya all!

This is my very first post here:P

I am taking off for my trip to Spain/Morocco in a week and I need some help. I will be have 5 days to see Madrid with day trips to Toledo/ Segovia and then I have to make my way to Malaga. On the way there I have a choice of visiting a couple of places- Cordoba [which I'll probably do a day trip] then I will head to either Seville/ Granada. The only problem is I can't decide which one to go to . Any pointers?

Thanks heaps!

I would vote skip Malaga altogether and then do both, but it sounds like you can't.

I say Granada, for the Alhambra, Middle Eastern feel, and free tapas when you buy a drink.

Sarahhhhhh! Welcome to tpunk! :D

So yeah, you know I have no other good advice to offer about Europe except what you've already taken - to come and check out the boards here :P - but I just wanted to say HEY, have an AWESOME trip and make sure you keep me (and us) updated on how things are going!

See you in KL after our trips!

I think that Cordoba has the least to see and would give the thumbs up to Granada, just over Seville.

In Seville there is a well preserved bull fighting arena, Plaza de Espana (falling apart a bit too much and could be better looked after) and the cathedral.

In my opinion the Alhambra in Granada is a must-see.

We enjoyed a stop in Seville, there's certainly plenty to do (check out a travel guide to get an idea of things that might interest you), but I think I'd choose Granada if I had my druthers.

I vote for Granada, too. It's a neat city, the Alhambra is amazing, and if you want to get out of the city and enjoy some countryside, the mountain villages of the Alpujarras is a short bus ride away...

Do do do go to the Alhambra!

I've only studied it in my Islamic art class and it looks amazing. I would LOVE to visit it. I will be jealous. :P

skip cordoba, go to seville and granada instead. the mosque in cordoba is awesome but seville is the definition of what we think of as 'spain' and the alahambra blows anything in cordoba out of the water. granada is also just kind of a cool city to see.

i would advice doing a little research on the history of spain and the alahambra before you go. just so you appreciate it more. if you dont understand why there are islamic mosques and architecture there that is mixed with jewish architecture and christian styles its cool but doesnt make much sense to you.

James Michener's book, "Iberia" is a great history/travelogue/memoir about Spain and Portugal, good reading for travelers going there.
