has anyone been to Georgia? i saw a show about the country and it looks like one of the most beutiful places in the world. i think i may go there some day.

I have not really thought about Georgia that much, It has cross my mind in the past but it was just in passing kinda thing. You have again tickled my fancy to learn a little bit more about this country. Here are some Facts About Georgia

Well I have been watching the news and thinking of you jteichgrab...It looks like Georgia is under seige, the goverment is falling as I type this and martial law has been declaired...I would hold off on that trip to Georgia for a little bit

Though the place should (in theory) calm down soon, the Caucasus region, like hte Balkans, can be dangerous to travel in, especially during times of political strife. However, I'm sure that it won't stay bad for too much longer, and if it does then you wouldn't want to travel there anyways (just an optimist's point of view: the glass is one-quarter full, eh?)

Excellent point Magnifico, from what I have seen is free elections are going to be held, and the president has resigned...which is what the turmoil was about...so it looks like soon you can enjoy the sights of Georgia without worry of political upheaval
