The general rule of thumb is bring a button up shirt, a pair of khakis and versatile, preferrably dark/neutral shoes (not running/trainers, not white). Doesn't have to be uber nice, but these items give you versatility in your wardrobe. Put it all together and you can go clubbing, wear a t shirt with the khakis for a casual look, etc.
