Any Tpunks been to Russia? Any suggestions besides Moscow and St. Pete? Any places (bars/resturaunts/anything) in Moscow, St. Pete, or elsewhere that you've been to or heard about that I should totally check out?

I spent two days in St. Pete during a Baltic cruise. It is an incredibly cool city, very walkable in portions. I would say you absolutely cannot miss the church of the savior of the spilt blood (yep, that's it's name). It has those Kremlin style onion domes in brightly colored swirls like ice cream cones. Incredible decoration all over it. As a matter of fact, most the churches are really cool looking -- something about those Orthodox domed churches that are so eye appealing.
Of course, you should also go see the Hermitage -- St. Pete's world class museum. Although folks say you could spend days in there, one was fine for me. There's a fort near the center of town that's pretty neat and during summer the Russians sun themselves on its lawn. Being winter, though, I imagine that won't be going on.
How many days you going to have in St. Pete, Lizz...?

AHHH I AM SO JEALOUS! I am dying to go to Moscow and am planning Moscow/St. Pete over this Christmas. There is a lot of cool architecture in Moscow I want to see (esp St. Basil's cathedral). Lets see some pics and some stories!!

Soon soon! All the crazy times (though I cannot match your stories! lol) in St. Petersburg are catching up to me...I'm slightly feverish and to make matters worse I was trying to leave today as my visa registration is up but my bank wouldn't let me get money until after the ticket office closed. So we will find out what happens but I have heard that registration is just an excuse to hassle minorities and the police mostly don't bother foreign women.
