Default Greece, Up the Adriactic/Dalmation coast to Croatia

Hey, I've not been on travelpunk for a while, but I'm back now, and I am planning on spending some time this coming august in Greece and Croatia. I think I am going to be meeting some friends in Athens, doing a bit of island hopping, head over to Corfu then go up to Croatia. Anybody taken a similar route and has some suggestions? Also, what is the easiest way to get up to Croatia from Corfu? I was reading on another thread that there's no ferry from Corfu to Croatia, so what is a good way to do it?

Also, is 2 weeks enough for doing some Island hopping in greece? i know I'm not going to see everything, but I want to make it worthwhile.

I'm getting ready to do 2 weeks in the greek isles. I thinks its plenty of time. we are doing - Santorini 5 days, Ios 4 days, Naxos 4 days and finishing in Athens on the way back to Holland. My neighbor is from Greece, and likes the timeline. I guess it depends on how many islands you want to hit. And don't forget that ferries don't connect like you think they would. (maybe just me), but they have routes, and unless you want to get stuck or spend a long time on a ferry, plan your route well.

Sweet, thanks. I'll be sure to look up those ferry routes, that's good to know. Also, any idea about how to get from Greece up to Croatia?

Lots of ways, depends on where you are etc... Planes, Trains, Ferries. I think from Corfu you would ferry to Bari, Italy then back across to Split or right in that area. Do your research on the ferry scheds.

Hey, I'm getting ready to head to Albania. Just thought I'd tell you that if you want to take a quick jaunt over from Greece to Albania, there is a ferry that runs from Corfu to Albania (city of Saranda, I believe). There's an awesome set of ancient ruins called Butrint real close to Saranda. I say go for it...I think you can even do it as a day trip and not overnight.

Just thought I'd let you know...even though it doesn't look like I'll get down that far south in Albania...

Check out http://www.backpackeurope.com/trans/ferry/
If you click on Croatia it will show you where the ferries go into. I looks like you’ll have to go via Italy to get there by boat.
