Looks like a great city! On the other hand someone tried to break into our sleeper while we were en route to Budapest.

Wikitravel has a night photo of it and it looks incredibly picturesque (and a little like Brugge)

Had some friends who lived there for a couple of years and loved it, I'd definitely give it a few days. Also, Zagreb is high on our list of "to sees".

Also, it is the capital of Slovenia. I have a friend going to school here that is from there. Bet it would be fun and somewhat cheap. Have fun.

Well I just discovered that a band I like is playing there on the 28th of April so I am going to see if I can zoom down there after arriving in Prague on the 18th. Hmmmm....
But besides that, because I could also see them in a few other cities, I also just discovered something awesome in Ljubljana when I was looking up the city. Have you heard of Metelkova?
According to my Lonely Planet: "an ex-army garrison taken over by squatters after independence, is now a somewhat daunting, free-living commune- a miniature version of Copenhagen's Christiania...500m east of the train and bus stations"
There's a hostel in a former prison...Celica Hostel. Basically the place sounds pretty damn cool! I really want to visit Christiania but this would be cheaper than denmark and much more en-route!
So if I end up going there I'll let you know what it's like. I actually hadn't planned to down as far as slovenia but oh well...

I've heard Lubjub (what I call it, as no one's ever told me how to pronunce it) is supposed to be one of the "new Pragues" -- a cool, Eastern European city that's relatively undiscovered. I'd say go for it!!!

My friend pronounces it like this: Lube-lee-yanna, but fast.

This begs the question... in order to stay elite, what is the next Ljubljana?

My vote goes for Pristina!

It'll probably be somewhere in Ukraine though.
