Me and a few mates are going on trip around Europe for a month via train.
The tickets cost £285 each and cover these places:
Finland, Norway, Sweden, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Czech and Slovak Republics, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Belgium, France, Netherlands, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Italy, Turkey, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania and Yugoslavia.

The only place we definately want to go to is - Amsterdam.

What other places do you recommend we visit?

Thanks

A month is short, so I'd say stick to the surrounding countries. Around one week per country (two cities + travel time) and you'll do about 3-4 countries beside Netherland. So... Germany-Poland-Czech-Austria, or Belgium-France-Spain, or You could do a straight line to Eastern Europe and fly back home from Bulgaria, or...

I mean, all country has its interesting points. What are you looking for ? Culture, party, outdoors, beaches ?

Almost forgot :

üdvözlés

Atchoum makes a good suggestion by advising that you fly out of Bulgaria or another Eastern country. As you have quoted your prices in pounds there are loads of budget airlines that fly into and out of eastern europe to the UK, Ryanair, Skyeurope, Whizz and easyjet

We are mainly looking for places with a good nightlife and probably sights seeing during the day.

We have been thinking about leaving London and travelling to Brussels on the Eurostar. Then maybe off to Prague, Bratislava, Budapest, Ljbuljana and then Amsterdam. We would like to spend about 4 days in each place and 8 in Amsterdam which would give us 7 days for travelling. Do you think this would be long enough?

Personally I dont think Bratislava has that much of a good nightlife. I used to live in Budapest and yes it has an amazing nightlife. If it was me i would get the train to Berlin head down to Prague and Budapest and then up to Krakow where I would fly home

We are not going to fly home because one of my mates is scared of flying that's why we're getting the train everywhere.

I too believe Bratislava is not that much of a party city, and Berlin and Krakow are more interesting. And your itinerary works, with 7 days to travel. However, it is a lot of km, which is not only time consuming, but also energy. Maybe have a plan B in mind in case. Are you going during high season, otherwise you wouldn't have to book anything in advance and would have freedom.

There is no nightlife in Bratislava really, or if there was I was walking around blind! Definitely choose Berlin, Budapest and Prague for the nightlife.

I found that the nightlife in Prague was way too touristy. It was expensive (compared to its surroundings), and didn't have any of that local feel to it. Personally, the best nightlife I've found in Europe are the small mountain towns in Austria (ski villages). You'll just have to get over the 13 year olds chain smoking and puking on themselves.
