free accomodation in Moscow
 

Some of the Moscow CouchSurfing leaders got together with a nunnery to see about accommodating the high number of travellers coming to Moscow. End result - they are offering free accommodation in central Moscow (Rizhskaya on the circle line). You can get free food too but you need to help out in the kitchen. The catch is you're supposed to volunteer for one hour a day, and there are a few rules. From Sister G's profile (bolded stuff done by me):

"I am Sister Ghalina. I live in the Nunnery located right in the center of Moscow. The Priest of the Nunnery is Father Sergy, a former hippy and traveller.

We are open-minded Christians and we would like to invite to our Nunnery all the people of the good will, travellers of all genders, nationalities, races and religions.

Our rules are simple: We host the travellers by default for 3 days (it's possible to stay longer, if you can help us). No alcohol, public sex, swearing, theft. You should understand, if any thing of the above mentioned occurs, the Nunnery will have to stop hosting the travellers.

You can safely park you car, bicycle, motorbike here. Our gates get closed at 8 pm. The entrance: 7 am - 01 am. You just ring the bell of the Nunnery when you are in.

Your help will be appreciated, non-obligatory, though - absolutely voluntary. Even if you help for 1 hr a day.

It can be: computer aid, flower planting, wrapping the chocolate, Greek translations, paintings, dish, whatever.

But first of all we expect interesting people with the wide-open hearts.

If you help us, we can provide you with the meals in our Refectory (canteen).

HOUSING CONDITIONS:

1) in two-deck beds in the Church, or 2) on the floor if the dorm is occupied by the pilgrims on the big celebrations, or 3) in the small wooden houses in the Nunnery, or 4) just camp out in the small Nunnery park (fenced territory)."
