Hey all....first post on travel punk!

I got my working holiday visa and am all set to travel to Oz next April (still saving up some coin!). Haven't booked my flight yet, but will probobly land in Sydney.
As I am going alone, it would be sweet to meet up with someone for beers, i'm 22 male and canadian.

Hey Steveo, welcome dude.

If i was gonna be here then a beer would be great. I'm off to Europe + everywhere else in mid Feb for quite a while so I guess theres no chance for a few brews with me then. I'm sure someone will raise ther hand for a few with ya though, ya never know whos gonna be around.

Me and my best friend are off to Australia in January, there for 3 months and cant wait! we will still be around for a bit in April, all though we are coming back home to England on the 15th :-( Im sure we could meet up somewhere before we go though. We are both also 22.

I'll be in aus in april as well. probably end of april it looks like. I'll also be there for close to a year doing the workin backpackin thing. I'm going alone too. But heck I don't think we'll be alone much! i'm 21 and from vancouver btw.

Have you booked your ticket yet? Best quote I got for a one year open was from Pacesetter Travel on Granville street, they were pretty helpful.
I've never travelled before so i'm kinda sketchin' out a bit!

hey your so close. i live in south van. Your right across the bridge from me. haha weird world. I heard about them i was actually gonna email them. will be buying my ticket either this week or next. I went around a few places and the best i got was with travel cuts on seymour st (at dunsmuir) It's one year and Vancouver to brisbane 1438 plus tax plus each stopover is an extra 100 bux. so if i went to both fiji and new zealand it would be 1638 plus tax. What was your quote?

Thanks for the travel cuts tip, i'll check them out. The pacesetter quote was 1469+taxes for a one year open.
Only $100 for extra stopovers? I was'nt planning on doing any stop overs, but that seems pretty reasonable...
How long can you stay at each stopover country? Is it open ended aswell?

I'm not sure how long you can stay at each place. I told her i was going to stay three weeks in fiji and two months in new zealand and she didn't say anything. I got this quote about two weeks ago so i'm hoping when i go back it will still be the same! thx for the pacesetter quote that's pretty reasonable. I believe travel cuts is going to have a sale on aus airfares at the end of april or something. I think it might go down to $1299 or so? that's what i heard but don't quote me on that! I asked about changing the date and she said each date change is $30.

It's funny though cuz after travel cuts i walked across the street to sta travel and they quoted me $400 more!!!
