Hey
That sounds like an awesome plan. Unfortunately I am Asia right now but wanted to tell you that I was born and bred in Limerick. It's a big city, not too exciting but Kerry is amazing. I spent lots of time there when I was younger. You will love Tralee and the ring of Kerry is amazing. Make sure to visit a little place in Kerry called Ballybunion. It is a really cute little town (village). The beaches and cliffs are awesome and I have a lot of fond memories from there. You will find lots of little pubs there although given the time of year, I'm not sure how many will be open.
Anyway enjoy yourself, and I hope you have a good camera as the scenery is fantastic (can you tell I am a little biased). Also the roads are very narrow, so rent a small car.
All the best!!

Well Time for Adventure... you've just made me even more eager to go to Ireland whenever it is I get to do my trip...I'm going to be on a very tight schedule, and it sucks cause I wanna do it all, and to divide this trip into two trips doesnt seem like a possibility right now...
I was thinking about going from Dubli to Cork and pehaps go to Blarney Castle... but I also heard that the west of Ireland is the best part (also the most traditional) which I'm dying to see. Would you rather recommend going from Dublin to Limmerick, some other town cose by and then Cork? Is it very expensive to do by bus??
Oh well... I' just have to keep doing more research to try and figure out how to make the most of the time there anyways

Jaysus you'd never think it from the nick name it has.
The west is indeed the best Florencia, but Cork is the European capitol of culture this year so there's bound to be something happening. I think a train ticket from Dublin to Galway cost €28 return or single, bus is cheeper and we have fairly good buses. Galway is the main city in the west and one of the best to stay in it's compact, easy to get around and right next door to connemara. Westport is supposed to be a nice place to visit but that's going north from Galway.
Ireland Is tiny, it takes 5 hours max to drive anywhere in the country. You can't get lost, there is no wilderness so there's no need to panick about anything.

You can too get lost, especially if you try to follow (the very occasional) road signs... stick with a good current map and you will be fine.
Driving at night can be scary on some of the roads though, a lot of "two way" roads in the country are scarcely large enough for one car, and there's nowhere to pull in if someone wants to pass you.. and most of these roads don't have street lights. Best to find a pub to spend the night and then just nap on the nearest street corner.. You'll be grand.
