Ok, I have decided that we need to become organized (even though I will have to work hard to have a prayer to make this trip), about who is going to Iceland... I know this what brought up a couple times in other threads... but now it has been rumored enough that it has its own thread... how cool is that. Cool as ice baby (sorry for the cornyness, I apologize, formost to Barry Manilow, for if I would have gone to his concert I wouldn't be so corny). I'll shutup now.
What: T-punk Vacation
Where: Iceland (duh)
When: February (Aurora Borealis time)
Why: Cause we want to see Aurora Borealis and be able to sit in a hot spring while its 10º F out
Who: That is what we are trying to find out. So far I think Mike, Ray, and a few others have discussed it.
How: Also something we could use help on, hoping to be able to work something out with an airline, but all help is appreciated.
So let us know your thoughts... we need all the people we can get to talk and keep the air warm so we don't freeze to death.

bugger. I thought this was going to be later in the year, sigh. As much as I would love to go, I doubt I'll be able to afford 2 international vacations in 2 months-- either with time or money. (egypt in March! HO!!!)

I didn't know there was a Mr. Arc... I just thought there was a Mr. there for the pleasure of Mrs. Arc when she wants it.

I would love to go, but I have class in February. My winter break is Dec. 22 through Jan. 24th.

Hmmm......that sounds kind of intriguing. That's usually a bad time to travel for me because of work, but who knows....I could possibly make that.
However, Sijuki...I think your estimate of 10 degrees might be a wee bit optimistic. Might be more like 10 or 20 below....but as long as your in a hot spring, with beverages...its all good.
Just on a whim I priced out some mid-week flights on icelandair between Boston and Reykjavík in mid-Feb and the price was about $499. So, if you can get a cheap flight to Boston or Manchester, NH which is less than an hour from Boston (Southwest Airlines flys from there)...could work. Not sure what your hope was for airfare?

Amber, just tell your professors you have a family emergency in iceland.. I am sure they would understand.
Perhaps we can get a big group to fly out of Boston... I will probably be taking a train there or maybe flying. But it saves me over $200 to leave directly from Boston than Detroit, not to mention like 7 hours. Maybe we can wing a deal with Iceland Air and get a group discount.
No rush on who's going, but are there other dates suggested or anything. Amber said she can go late January... perhaps then? Let us all know. Ray, Mike, Voyd, anyone?

In Feb? Iceland would be cool (apparently brunettes are as sensual there as blonds are in the rest of the world ), but classes... If it were earlier... Mid Jan? How much does it cost?
