I probably will then, and I went Dec-May 2005. Their support system pretty much blows unless you want to be around a bunch of americans all the time (If I wanted to be around americans, I'd stay in texas, thanks), but they do get you the work visa and etc. The orientation is about as boring as watching your toenails grow.

Bunac Homepage You can do basically any type of work you want (except acting, for some reason). Its an organization that gets your visa for you and provides a so-called support network once you're in the UK. I wasnt very impressed by their in-UK help, but I guess it was useful for some people. They have a long, boring orientation and tell you about getting your taxes back and finding a flat, and getting along with brits (tho if you stay in london you're more likely to work with aussies and kiwis) and so on. They also have several socials a month- mostly drinking nights at pubs but some out-of-london excursions. Which is fine if you want to hang out with a bunch of fucking yanks, but I didnt really. Anyway the cost of the visa was $300 something dollars, its probably gone up since I did it. You send them your paperwork and your passport and they send you back your passport and your visa papers in two days. Its worth it. You dont want to be over there and unable to find work in the somewhat sketchy world of under the table work. Let me know if you have any more questions at all, I'd be happy to answer them for you.

Such is life on the wild side, eh? :D
I've decided that I'm just going to stay in London. Hopefully I don't come home any further below the poverty level than I already am...
