Anyone ever sold big furniture on ebay? Or know anyone who has?

How do sellers ship this stuff??

I've got really nice furniture (thanks to the ex), which....I know will be difficult to sell on Craigslist or the like, as it's not just average, mediocre furniture. I can't just give this away...I just can't. It's too nice, it cost too much....it's worth more.

Eek. I just want to sell this furniture and be done with it!

My friend sold a huge recliner - and the buyer came and picked it up himself. I think he had marked "local pick-up" only on his listing. For big items, that's definitely what I would do - as the S&H cost alone could easily > the price.

I guess it won't hurt to try it....

I'm trying to post this everywhere....Craigslist, The Washington Post, CityPaper....

Think I should get it in print, as opposed to online? I have a little over a month to sell this shit.

Yeah I would say to not bother with Ebay with selling big furniture. Like Voyd said, sometimes the cost of shipping will be greater than the item.

Leave up some flyers in your local grocery store, put an ad in the paper and on Craigslist. People sell stuff on there all the time and not just give it away. And if it is local people looking then they won't have a problem coming to pick it up!

Good luck, hope you get some money for it!

You can also weigh/measure each piece, go to UPS or a freight company with your list, and ask how much each piece will be including pickup from your home. The cost will be gnarly huge, but you can list that in your eBay price.
