Okay, I'm stumped.
I ASSUME that people who live in Costa Rica fly internationally. And I assume that travel agents in Costa Rica advertise deals and special sales for flights to, say, South America. However, I can't find any listing or webpage anywhere on the internet that could get me in contact with one.
Since my airline flies to C.R., I can get there basically free. Any ideas on how to find a list of San Jose - South American cities deals? I've tried the websites of the airlines themselves, but they're all geared for "gringo prices," it seems...

One of the problems in Costa Rica is that not all businesses are wired, so a lot of companies don't have web sites... Some have email addresses via ICE (the inefficient national telecom company) or hotmail at best. Google the terms "agencia" "viaje" "costarricense" for the best results.
Here are a few links I found that might be of use:
Otec Viajes - probably one of C.A.'s biggest travel agencies
Student Travel International - looks like a Costa Rican version of STA

For that matter, Mike, TACA uses Juan Santamaria as a hub, so you could conceivably go that route... Also, Liberia in the NW part of the country has some flights as well. Many folks I met found it cheaper to fly in/out of there. I guess you could fly to Alajuela and then bus to Liberia, too.

Thanks, guys, I'll try those ideas. It seems when I pull up airline websites, though, they only want to show me prices to and from the states. I'll keep working at it and maybe I'll come up with something. I mean, it's not like having to go to Costa Rica would suck or anything...!
I'd just like to try something new...
