Free Cruise!

Time to dust off the 'ol passport...

I had written some long explanation but no one wants to hear it i'm sure so I edited it.

Anyways, my father-in-law is kinda crazy. Him and his wife love going on vacation. I'm just not sure if they love being together all the time anymore, so they invited me and my wife along for a Caribbean cruise. Free of charge because they know we're saving for a new car and another European vacation (this is best kind of crazy father-in-law to have by the way).

They set it all up last week and we're leaving on the 17th out of San Juan, Puerto Rico. We'll be visiting St. Thomas, USVI; St. Kitts; Dominica; Barbados; and Dominican Republic.

I've never been on a cruise but I love warm weather, the ocean/sea, and seeing new places so I'm sure I'll be able to handle it. All of the stops have decent excursions so I'll be able to check out the islands a little bit too. I'll post some pictures and a review when I get back.

One last thing - any other cruise veterans know how to smuggle booze onboard?

Oh, and Jake, I woulda gone thru you if I could but he had this all booked before I was even really part of the process! sorry.

Ahh cruising. Are you going to have to do the theme night stuff? Your Island list is nice. I've been to most of them except Barbados, and thats the one I want to go to the most. Have a good time. Never thought about smuggling booze. I couldn't imagine that they go through your bags, and how about bringing onboard after an excursion?

Awesome! A free cruise is never a bad thing!

I've only been on one cruise and I was like 12 at the time. While my family has a history of alcoholism, I hadn't started at that age. :D

However, I do have friends who have gone on cruises and smuggled booze on board. The most common method they've used has been Listerine bottles and water bottles. With the Listerine, they put a little green food coloring in the vodka and made sure the bottle wasn't completely full (so it wouldn't be suspicious that it was already open).

Just do a little Googling and see what others have done & gotten away with.

nice! Have fun man.

I quit that gig anyway so no worries on that note.
I've heard the mouthwash bottle thing quite a bit.

Free cruise, sweet! Warm + ocean sounds amazing right about now. Have fun...good luck with the booze (as previously asked, do they really check your stuff?)...closest I've gotten is just dumping vodka in my Nalgene, although you could probably get a colored Nalgene for better disguising.
