I live in Kelowna BC, and I've never been past Alberta. Anywhere. So this summer I'm wanting to take my bo and head on a road trip east.I just need to figure out the cost..
What do you think gas would cost? And does anyone know of any good places to stay? Just looking for thoughts :) Thanks all!

Hey,
Well I have no idea about gas, as I mooch off my parents' car/gas, all I know is it went up 15 cents here yesterday, so it's way too unpredictable! The drive through Alberta is gorgeous, although I guess you already know that. Then you hit the prairies where I'm from! They can get a little dull, but I guess if you haven't been past Alberta, long stretches of fields and canola and wheat and stuff could be interesting! It takes about 26ish (?) hours to get from Vancouver to Winnipeg which is middle of Prairie country. While Winnipeg might not be a destination, it's a nice stop. In summer, there's really great festivals, like an amazing Fringe Festival in July that has free concerts, and fun times downtown every night that it runs. Apparently there's some sort of festival every weekend, and there's also great beaches about 1 hour north. Between Winnipeg and Southern Ontario, the trans-Canada isn't great. It's beautiful, especially in the Whiteshell area that borders the provinces, but sort of dangerous. When I head east and am driving, I go through the States. You hit Minneapolis, and Chicago, at least how I go! That route, it's about 24 hours (not counting city traffic I guess) between Wpg and Toronto. Don't know if this helps at all, but good luck planning!
