Hey!

I thought I could just tell you a little about my home town! ^_^

http://www.bonjourquebec.com/photos/...c_876G10_g.jpg

Quebec is 2h30 hours drive from Montreal. It is a beautiful city, full of history and nice places to see...The old town looks like France. There are many things to see and do in the city...Mountains, Saint-Lawrence River, forest everywhere...The night life is also pretty nice. There are nice places to ski or snowboard, quite near the city. You can even go whale watching in Tadoussac all summer and until the end of october! You can also sleep in a Tipi and try dog sleighs!

People speak french, but everyone knows a little english. Legal age is 18 and you can buy alcool at the grocery store! It's the best place to bring your gf guys! A romantic city! :)

If you have any questions, or if you are looking for a place to stay, just ask me!!! B)

Very nice, Moc!

Quebec sounds so beautiful, lively, and romantic  . That photo is verrrrry enticing!

Maybe someday we can have a big Tpunk member expo there since there's something for everyone and the legal age is only 18 for alcohol! This way, the backpackers who aren't 21 can join in all the fun!

Thanks for the info B) !

If there's a Tpunk party, I want it to be at my place!!! smile

Canadian Dude 10-19-2003 03:23 PM

That is great Moc, I am looking for a nice place to take my wife, although it will not be a budget trip, it will be fun just the same, and it looks like Quebec is at the top of the list!!!

:worship:

Mocassin 10-19-2003 08:38 PM

Well CD, if you have any questions you can ask me, and you better pay me a visit when you come! :cowboy:

Canadian Dude 10-20-2003 05:15 PM

For sure Moc, I would fully look you up!!! My wife and I would love to meet you for dinner if we end up in your home town!!! :wine:

Mocassin 10-20-2003 10:02 PM

Cool! :cowboy:

voyd 10-21-2003 06:44 AM

Wow, purdy, but how cold do it get? :o

PS - damn NICE smilies you added, TP/CD!

Mocassin 10-21-2003 03:28 PM

Hahah! Yeah, the weather is a big issue around here.

In winter it gets really cold, especially from december to march. I suggest you do not come here in winter if you don't like cold temperatures! It will sometimes get down to -22F, and it's worse if it's windy...There is also a lot of snow. One of my brother's friends died in a snowstorm a few years ago because she got lost in a field...Among the three of them who got lost, 2 died!!! :(

But in the summer it's very nice and we get 86F, but somethimes at night you'll need to wear a warm sweather.

The best months to visit Quebec are may to october. Right now it's snowing outside and it's 37F... :cowboy:

voyd 10-21-2003 03:57 PM

-22F
  :o lol

Maybe you should migrate down HERE for tha winter, then. We'll trade up in the summer..

Mocassin 10-21-2003 06:44 PM

Actually, I love winter! :P

My favorite weather is when it's snowing big flakes and they fall really slowly, everything is so silent then! Ski, snowshoes, soft and warm mittens...I plan to train my dog so she can pull me while I'm on skis, she pulls us on rollerblades, but it's risky because she runs too fast and goes where she wants, skis are safer! :D

But I wouldn't mind heading south for a few months! We miss the sun after a while!

Wow, and I was always told that Quebecans were rude and didn't like americans. Although my dad said it was nice when he went through there. I've never ventured to far into Canada, Toronto is the farthest. But someday I would like to get to Quebec and Montreal. Good to know there are nice people there too. :)

I used to love winter, but over the years it has taken its toll on me. Although I still love winter in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It's beautiful up there.

Well thanks for the tip

Mocassin 11-05-2003 11:38 PM

Quebecers are not rude! There are so many rumors...When I was in Bulgaria, someone told me he'd been told that canadians were all nature freaks and if they found a pine cone, they had to replace it at exaclty the same spot! Come on! Some people in France think that amerindians still live in tipies and are still dangerous and can try to take your scalp...My cousins are amerindians, and have blue eyes Hehehe!

We don't hate americans, well, we can understand that some are nice people! There are nice and bad people everywhere, you just have to try to meet the nice ones! ;)

Sijuki 11-06-2003 07:49 AM

I know, I wouldn't stereotype against a certain group of people. I was just giving you a hard time. :D
As far as the stereotypes of amerindians, I see it all the time here. I have a hell of a time trying to set the recrord straight. :nono: They just don't understand. Of course its the same with Blacks, Hispanics, and any other race or culture.
Honestly, I wouldn't blame you for having a distaste for americans, most of us are ignorant and uncultured to say the least. (Of course no offense to the americans in this group, cause obviously you were smart enought find this site and use it to educate yourself about traveling which in itself gets you cultured). I've always liked canadians since my trip to Toronto. Most people were nice, and a lot of attractive people. Although everytime I had a soda there it was flat as a board.

Mocassin 11-06-2003 09:26 PM

Soda is never flat in Québec! ;)

Sijuki 11-07-2003 02:26 PM

Oh alright, well then next time I am in Canada I will be sure to swing by Quebec to get a good soda! :stoked:

Mocassin 11-07-2003 03:35 PM

Sure! I'll serve it myself (expect some rhum mixed with it!)!!!!! ;)

Sijuki 11-07-2003 07:46 PM

Rum is fine... are you trying to spike my drink there? :o

Paulo 11-08-2003 10:55 AM

Sijuki, I wouldn't put it past her. She tried to take over the board a week or so ago.

And hey, I consider myslef pretty ignorant and uncultured. Although, I guess if I have enough self-assesment abilities to see that, then maybe I am not really ignorant. So in that case maybe I am just ignorant of the fact that I am not really ignorant to the idea of being ignorant.

What was this thread about??? Oh..yeah...Quebec. sorry.

p.s. Rum n' coke is one of my favorite cocktails. yum. :wine:

Sijuki 11-08-2003 12:09 PM

Hey Paulo,
yeah she is gonna take the board over by intoxicating one member at a time. :stoked: :wine:
