Iceburgs in Newfoundland

I was watching a show on them last night, they are so beautiful-has anyone seen them? They drift pretty close to shore during the spring--does anyone know the best time to see them specifically, or does it vary from year to year?

I see them pretty much every year...and yeah they're incredible.
coming here during iceberg season doesn't guaruntee you'll actually see them, last year I took a trip to "iceberg alley" at the peak of the season and only saw one tiny one....so it really depends on the ice flow, wind, etc.
that said i'd recommend a trip to newfoundland anyway. It's one of the best places on earth!

I've never been but i've heard its very beautiful, back in the day! i dated a guy from newfoundland, he was really cool....i wonder what happended to him?, but i would love to see Canada and the parts off canada!!

Being Canadian, I am ashamed to say that I have not travelled extensively through the country. And why not!? It is a beautiful place.

I think I definately need to take advantage of living here and see more of it. A trip to Newfoundland is up there on my to do list.

And d_fresh, I will totally babysit for your new baby so you can take your wife out for dinner. I won't invite any boys over....promise!

I still haven't been to every province....sask, alberta, manitoba and the territories are left for me.
only problem travelling in canada is if you're gonna do it its just as well to either buy a cheap beater car or rent one. the trains are insanely expensive (and non existant in newfoundland...thanks CN!)
