Default Help with skiing in March

Hi,

Long time lurker, First time poster here.
I have a quick question and would appreciate any feedback. Me and some friends from university, in England, really want to take a break at Easter, mid-March time, and go skiing for a week or so. I have googled skiing and TONS off stuff comes up so...

Do any T punkers have experience of skiing in Europe? Could we get a challet or would it be cheaper to get a hotel? or even hostels if they exist in mountains?

If it helps there is about 4-6 of us, none with equipment or knowledge and sadly we don't have a real clue about ski seasons or even good countries to ski in...

We really haven't thought it through too well to be honest but maybe some advice would get this grand plan on the roll.

Thanks

El Oso

I will preface this by saying I have never skied in Europe so I really don't know what I am talking about. That said, if its anything like the U.S., its usually cheaper with a big group to rent a condo(chalet, cabin, etc) than do hotel rooms. There are a lot of variables that imp act price however, such as whether you are literally right on the mountain and can ski out the back door, or a bit farther away where you have to walk/drive a short way to the lifts. After you go, please post about the trip. I would love to ski in Europe and would appreciate hearing about your trip. Good luck!
