I've always been a fan of National Parks here in the US and have also visited a few in other countries whilst traveling. On our trip to the UK this march it looks like we will be going to several of the National Parks there; including The Lake District NP (England), Snowdonia NP (Wales), Killarney NP (Ireland), and at least passing through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs NP (Scotland) and Cairngorms National Park NP (Scotland).
So I am wondering what other National Parks folks have been to on travels and how they have found them and the experiences they've had???

Many of them are quite big indeed. We are lucky to have some beautiful natural places here

Oh What a good site! I always go to National Parks and would really love to visit many overseas. Have a good time!
This reminds me. Does anyone here like yelling out koeeehhhh at every single national park? Fun times.. I guess that is for those of us who can't always handle the complete silence.

We have all the national parks in NSW, Oz, in our database here at work. So, if you're ever in NSW you can give me the town you're in and i can tell you the closest national park and even give you street by street directions....one of the perks of making maps for a living.
I love national parks, but i love state forests even more because they let motorbikes and 4wd's in there. Fortunatley for me we also have all the state forests in our database, which comes in very very handy when planning riding weekends

So we ended up going to Snowdonia NP (Wales), Killarney NP (Ireland), and at least passing through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs NP (Scotland).
Loch Lomond was really beautiful, and was easily my favorite!

I hear that at the rate of global warming, the Glacier at Glacier National Park is supposed to be gone by some obscenely soon time, like 2050. anyone know if there;s any truth in that? because that would suck.

I don't know how much truth there is in that, but I have heard it also - and it would suck

National Geographic said the glacier on Kilimanjaro will probably be gone entirely by 2020! So you'd better see it now if you ever wanted to...

Yosemite National Park (California, USA)
Sequoia National Park (California, USA)
Grand Canyon National Park (Arizona, USA)
Parque Nacional Perito Moreno (Santa Cruz, Argentina)
And I went camping for 15 days to:
Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi (Bariloche, Argentina)
Hope to visit more soon!!
