Default Cotton T-Shirt

Hi,

i am thinking of taking 4-5 t-shirts and planning to do washing once a week. But, i want to know what type of t-shirt people take?

do you take special quick drying ones - which can be expensive?
or just normal t-shirts, normally 100% cotton ones, which are easier to find and better fitted normally.

is there much difference in drying times?

i just take what I wear at home. Don't go out of your way to get special clothes for your trip.

^ What he said. Unless you're planning a serious backcountry camping excursion (read: no electricity, no running water except for rivers) that lasts for more than a week, the "performance" clothing isn't really going to add much to your experience. What it WILL do is take a mighty fine chunk out of your spending cash before you leave.

I didn't take anything special with me. I added a few nice shirts/tank tops for going out. Last time I backpacked was int he winter in Europe. I kind of had a fuck-it attitude and took clothes that I wear at home which are pretty nice. It got a little heavy, especially with how many shoes I bought/brought. But I look very nice in the pictures. And I didnt' wash stuff that often. I used the hostel's laundry service when they had one, so I think I washed stuff twice in a month and did underwear by han din the sink with those tide sink wash packets. Those worked nicely.
