I'm looking at a couple of packs from High Sierra, anyone ever used anything by them? Or better yet, have any idea how big these packs are? (eBags doesn't list a volumes for the Railpass for some reason.)
High Sierra Railpass High Sierra Compass Since I'm gone for 6 weeks, almost 90L seems huge, but better big and empty than small and squeezing out the sides, right? |
I'm looking into the HS Transport (23" x 14.5" x 8.5") and the HS Railpass like you are. I have no idea if they're good, so hopefully someone can fill us BOTH in.
And eBags gave me the info fine for the HS Railpass... Quote:

I figured those were external sizes, not internal volume.
I ended up going with the REI Grand Tour. It's a good bag but costs some more. If you go with the HS let me know what you think about it! |
I haven't used any of these bags, so I can't say anything good, or bad, about them. What I can say is I have a Jansport backpack with the removable day pack (paid $75 on sale, killer price). I love it! The versitility is awsome. Only thing I don't like is it sticks out a bit much when the 2 bags are zipped together. You really have to be aware of the room you are taking up. It is easy to knock something (or someone) over. Look on eBay for backpacks, lots of good deals, and a large selection.
