Ok, so I bought the Dana Design Far Flung a while ago for my upcomming Europe trip.
I then decided to test it on my trip to Honduras.
I took that bag, and my large backpack that I use for school. My large school backpack is easily carry on size, while the far flung is a "maybe" carry on size (although I KNOW I coulda gotten it carried on).
As the week went on I felt I had certain opinions about the far flung backpack.
Its a VERY nice backpack but its not very...deep. Its tall and somewhat wide, but its very very shallow deep however you want to put it. I would rather have something thats...a little less tall and a little deepers, it just seems easier to me to get all your clothes and whatnot into it. Not to mention that the daypack is...well...TINY! I could barely fit my book and some other random things into it!
Well after a little thought and comparison, this backpack is suppost to be 3800 cu. in.
I now believe that my school backpack is of similar volume. I would say my school backpack is probably around the 3000 cu. in. range. After some consideration I am wondering about a different plan of action.
I was thinking of getting a small more compact (but deeper) backpack. Much like my school backpack. Use one for my clothes and the other for my day pack. They would both DEFINITLY go carry on, and I would have plenty of room.
What do you guys think? Instead of having one large backpack go for 2 smaller ones of equal size?
