Help! I need help security a drawstring top back. It's an Osprey Aether 90 and I have been trying to figure out how to lock the drawsting top. I have no idea how except for inserting metal grommets around the drawstring top, and then tightening a cable lock around it until it is cinched shut. But for obvious reasons I do not want to grommet the bag unless absolutley nessecary. So I was wondering if anybody had some advice on how I might go about this.

I've seen metal mesh "bags" while browsing on the net - you put your bag into it and lock it from the top. Maybe this would be useful...

Well. I do have an Osprey Airporter bag, and I was thinking that maybe putting gromets in that and then tightening it so somebody couldn't open it with a chain and padlock. That packsafe thing is interesting, but unfortunatley I leave for Europe in about six days. So it might be out of the question.

Plus I also heard from some friends that I have talked to that such a thing is pretty darn heavy. And that it screams that you have something real valuable inside. Not sure about that, but I do wonder. It might not be the choice for me but perhaps for somebody else who is looking for a security option.
