This is a simple thing yet often over looked little tidbit.
A lot of people have a tendency to buy a brand new pair of shoes right before they go off on their backpackin' extravagana, but forget to break them in.

Make sure that you have broken-in your pair of shoes a few weeks before you head off on your journey! This way your shoes will feel a lot more comfortable. Otherwise, your feet will be hating life!

UNbroken-in shoes = dismal feet!

Peace out!

I bought a pair of Dansk clog/shoes not long before a trip, and I lucked out because they aren't the kind of shoes you break in. Actually, I completely recommend them, 110%. Plus, if youre from the U.S., these shoes make you look less touristy.
