I've had people ask me, from time to time, about the type of money belt I use on my travels. It's an ordinary leather belt, but has a zippered compartment on the inside. I trifold $20s or $50s, depending on how much backup cash I'm taking, and slip them in there. You can fit quite a bit of cash in there that way, and it is completely inconspicuous...

Here's the type I use, not sure if these are the guys that make it, but it looks the same, from LeTravelStore:

Here's Go Gear's belt:

Here Eagle Creek's belt:

Sweet! I was going to experiment with making one, but these are awesome. I sleep so much better knowing that my cash (thats all I carry when I travel, bad I know...) is securely attached to my body...

I was wondering the same thing... still, at least if you're mugged and they're smart enough to get your money belt your cash will still be safe.

I tried ordering the leather belt from Le Travel Store, but it seems like they're out of stock, or at least the price turns to $0 when put in the cart and they no longer list it on the main site that I can find. I ended up buying one of these. The same guy sells em on ebay for less though ($6.95 + $8.95 S&H vs $16.95 + $6.95 S&H for the set of 2)

I just bought one off of feebay for less than $6, including shipping. Made entierly of plastic & nylon, so no metal to set off the detectors at airport security checkpoints. No need to take off a money belt with a couple $grand in it, in front of who knows how many people and send it on a conveyer belt into a machine to be x-rayed. Not the most stylish belt in the world, but style is not the point! Yes, it will not hold a passport or cards, but I look at it as supplimental to a regular money belt.
