How do we feel about Kelty?
I'm looking into a Kelty Illusion 3500 for my backpacking trip next Autumn... Any experience or thoughts? also, in general.. what is the difference between a woman's pack and the standard? thanks... Here's a link to the bag on ebags if that helps..http://www.ebags.com/kelty/illusion_...?modelid=50582

womans bags have a short distance from the shoulders to the hips, and the straps tend to be contured differently to allow for breast as well as a higher sternum strap, they hip belts also tend to angle outward more noticablly than a standard bag and they are more likely to come in pink

Kelty has some decent pack, but also have some lousy ones. The one you are looking at is a front panel loader - it would be better if it was both front panel and top loading (2 access points). Also, no detachable daypack.
I'd check the Marmot Femme Nikita |
In some of the pictures I saw of this one it loads both top and front... And believe me, I'm avoiding the detachable daypack like the plague!:) Plus, it's on sale for 99$.;)

Here is a better webpage with WAY more information...

try coleman
Hi,
I've done lots of research on packs and I love mine. It's a woman's/small adjustable internal framepack. I did the grand canyon and many, many Alaskan backpacking trips. It's like 4.4? lbs and has a mesh back so you're not sticky sweaty, lots of easy adjustable pouches and stuff like that. I'd check them out-mine's discontinued but it looks like they make similar stuff-hopefully even better. coleman's pretty cheap too:) |
