Hi everyone

Im looking for some pack advice as i really dont have a clue ! I was in a couple of shops at the weekend and both of which gave me the hard sell on this Berghaus.

It seems to cover everything i was looking for i.e. easy to load/access, strong, carry straps, additional day sack etc etc

Im just wondering what everyone else thinks of these travel packs though ? Im away for 5 weeks backpacking in hostels, this pack looks like itd be pretty useful for any type of holiday though as seems to be like a combined suitcase/rucksack. For reference, im looking for something pretty convenient whether im on a weekend city break, backpacking for 5+ weeks or just a week at the beach

A couple of people have told me to avoid travelpacks like the plague and just go for a rucksack but to be honest they couldnt justify why they believed that ?!

Any advice is appreciated

Thanks everyone

P.S. The link is below, i couldnt get the berghaus main site link to work so heres one from a random store !

Ive just bought the Womans Jalan 55 + 15 it arrives tomorrow.. ive tried it on in the shop and it seems to fit perfectly, has everything I need, & looks v heavy duty. This was the first one i tried on and after a couple more weeks of shopping nothing seemed to beat it!

I'm doing 5 weeks travel myself too, both cities and beaches and feel it will be perfect, lets hope it will be!

I've found some amazing deals on Ebay for cheap packs. I'm talking huge ones for less that $60. Go to Ebay.com, search for "backpacks" then choose "Camping/Hunting" when the list of categories comes up. I got sized at a local store than bought one online, its awesome.

I have this backpack and it was the best buy I ever made! Granted it's a 'biofit' which means you have to play with the straps for a while when you get it but after that it's one of the most reliable I've seen on my travels!

Hey, I've got one of these (the Jalan 60+15). This is probably a stupid question but what do people do to stow away the back cover when they have it unzipped to put on their backs? It just seems to be dangling around at the moment and I can't see an obvious strap to use to secure it...

The cover pushes up into a pocket at the base of the backpack.
Have a fumble you'll find it :)

Hey Claire - thanks for the advice, I figured this out whilst waiting at the check-in desk at Heathrow back in July! Maybe it just needed the bag to be fuller but yeah the storage space is pretty obvious once you've had a play around!
