Budget Travel GearYo Nellie, which backpack should I git? Questions and answers on gear related topics (i.e. backpacks, sleeping bags, tents, hiking boots, stoves, etc.).
I bought an eiger 55 for my first backing adventure; 3 weeks in europe. I noticed it has rails I can take out which apparently are the shape of my internal frame. The pack feels good on but there to is a gap between my lower back and the pack is it supposed to sit this way or should it hug my back more?. Also are these rails supposed to be bent to fit my body, They feel pretty stiff but sill bendable. Any replies appreciated.
These "rails" (actually called "stays") are meant to bend slightly when you adjust the pack using the straps. There are a pair of straps up top above the sholders and another pair near the waist. The best thing I can tell you is to go into the stroe where you bought it and have them show you how to adjust the pack.
