I'm leaving London on the 29th of March getting into Perth on the 30th, i'm flying out of Sydney 3 months later so i have plenty of time to explore!
The rough plan so far is Perth up to Boome, Darwin, carins and then down to sydney, i'm still planning the bits in between but i want to see as much as possible, any suggestions would be welcome.
i'll post a better Itinerary when i get one sorted, i'm just so damn excited i want to tell everyone i'm going!!
Kel

Very good time to go to the north of Oz as it is the dry and tempretures are quite nice. Are you planning to use greyhound bus? It is a really good idea for what you want to do. Also save most of your drinking money till Darwin and Cairns because at that time of the year every night is a party night mostly geared towards backpackers.
Congratulations also for making the trip out of England. Hope you enjoy it.

Yeah, Darwin people are the biggest piss heads in Oz....I'm not kidding, they consume more beer per person than any other city in Australia....I love that place. Better get that liver of yours in training.

Irish!!! Disregard my last comment about training your liver....your liver would already be an elite athlete in the drinking world

Apparently Darwin is on par with Dublin for the amount of alcohol drunk per capita

I'm thinking taking a month to get from Perth to Darwin, then a month between darwin and carins as there is so much to do up there then a month from carins to Sydney!..........wot do yous think?
I came accross a really cool site for hitching rides with fellow backpackers so hopefully that will keep the travel costs down between places.
And damn i love my drink, hence my title, so looks like my trip will be a drunken exploring adventure!!!
