Surfers paradise anyone ?

Hi all
Has anyone been too surfers paridise ?? My ex gf went there a few years ago for a few weeks and said it was awesome, apperently its pretty hoppin and should be in the middle of my trip, thats where I plan to relax and kick it for a while, Im thinking if funds allow a month or more, has anyone been there and can i get some advice on this place ???? looking into a barkeep job there. thanks again

Surfers is excellent!
If you love the beach - you'll love Surfers.

I've been there twice (I live in Sydney) and the first time i went was during "Schoolies Week" so there was all fresh-out-of-high-school kids there and all the shops were open late, and it was busy! (end-november til mid december)

The second time I went was a day trip (around easter time), and I dont think many shops were open til late.. and it wasnt as busy as it had been earlier.

There are lots of things to see and do on the Gold Coast, and the beaches are beautiful. Be sure to keep an eye out for the Meter Maids in gold bikinis!

I'll be going up again hopefully in January..
