Hey guys its me again....
What would be the best route to take through australia? Places we should skip/definitly see... thanks so much

How long are you planning on spending? It's supposedly a month just to "properly" see the east coast from Sydney on up through Cairns (that's what I'll be doing), so it depends on what pace you want and what kind of activities you're up for.

Remember, Australia's HUGE.

We are planning for about 5 or 6 months but we also want to see new zealand as well.

Aww, man, that's plenty of time. You'll definitely be able to see and do a LOT. Basically, you can do a circular loop that covers most of the country.. say you land in Sydney, you can go north and cover Queensland (Brisbane through Cairns) cut west to Darwin, south through the outback to Alice Springs (check out Uluru), down to Adelaide and Melbourne, and back to Sydney.. And lots of other stuff along the way. And then you can fly out to Perth and explore W. Australia.. Or do it all the other way around. The Lonely Planet book for Australia has some potential routes you can check out...
