Default Budget Australia Airlines

These may be posted somewhere, sorry if they are but...

I want to go from Sydney to Perth. Just seeing what the average cost is. Wont be til next year however, but trying to budget for a work/holiday year trip in Australia, just trying to estimate initial costs.

Virgin Blue was 175 one way for about any day I wanted, anything cheaper than that? I realize that its a good distance, and thats probably a decent price as it is.

Thanks,
Andrew

Check out www.jetstar.com and www.tigerairways.com (as well as virgin)

The tiger one has only started up recently and has had some great deals lately. Keep an eye on all the sites as you get closer to your trip in case some deals come up, you may want to subscribe to the newsletters as well.

175 is a very good price for syd to perth. when i was there the prices were:

cairns-melb 250 AUD
melb-syd 150 AUD
almost any city to alice springs-370 AUD

syd to perth is across the country, that price beats an LA-NY flight any day.
i say book it!

when i was there virgin seemed to be the cheapest, then jetstar

keep in mind, jetstar are known to be a cunty airline. you have to have checked in within the 30mins before your flight,no ifs or buts. there have been cases of people standing in the line to check in, and be told they are unable to board the place since they wernt thru check in soon enough.

virgin are awesome, and are generally the cheapest.

a good comparison website you might find helpful is www.webjet.com.au it compares all airlines within aussie for any destination.

Thanks, much appreciated. I guess I am getting to antsy about this trip, even though its a long time out. But once I get obsessing over something, it's hard to stop .

Probably next Jan or Feb... Work/Study Holiday for a year. Probably the majority in Perth, and then make my way back to the east coast. Just always like to look at planning things early. Or at least make the stages later down the road much easier (visa requirements and all).

I used virgin blue the whole time I was in oz and can't knock them (apart from the seats being a little hard). I even flew with pacific blue sydney to christchurch and they were top notch as well.

When you fly quantis in oz all you are paying for is the meal
