Default Anyone in Cairns?

Hey everyone!

I know it has been ages since I have been on, except trying to graduate and move to a new country was quite trying to get together. I am up in Cairns and staying here until January.

Anyone in Cairns now? And also, anyone headed to S. Pacific in Jan. in need of a travel mate?

Hope everyone is well!

Wow so I looked back and I guess you got some kind of visa that lets you work but doesn't give residency.

I'm jealous! I miss australia, wish I could come join you.

What type of visa do you have, and what did it take to get it? I've been looking into trying to get a general skilled migration visa but its a real pain in the ass. I loooved australia and thought it would be cool to move there for a few years at least.

I got a 4 month working visa from BUNAC. The company actually helped immensley with getting bank accounts and finding me a place to live. Totally worth the extra money. Of course, right when I move here, they sign some thing that Americans can now be on the same lines as Canada and the UK and get 12 month visas...

Cairns great so far, I am staying here until Jan when my visa runs out and then to the South Pacific for a couple of weeks. I can only stay for that time because I have to go back to the US and take the GRE to get into post grad school. I definitely recommend Cairns to anyone doing australia, lots of nice people and heaps of hospitality work.
