And Canberra also has a great hostel.

The YHA is so nice!! It has a heated indoor pool, sauna, spa, rooftop patio, a little workout room and tv's in the rooms. Ummm hello how cool is that. Yes it's a little mellow, but I still met some cool peeps and had a crazy time. It was at the end of my trip so seeing nice, clean indoor pool was such a nice treat!

The poor buggers will get lost trying to find it... I went there for a b'day party in 2003.
Is any bloody restaurant priced for a backpacker in Canberra???
They really need to find a local to assist or they'll get ripped off.

Well technically Jervis bay is part of the ACT so therefore it does. But apart from that it is landlocked. However, most of batemans bay in NSW is owned by canberrans.
As a rule one would not travel this far south looking for a beach.

on the home address topic - That address would be home occasionally to a few vagrants or drug addicts too wasted to find their way back to their government funded ratsnests in Braddon or O'connor...

I live around the corner from a lovely selection of those government funded ratsnests you speak of... one of them was set on fire a few weeks ago and the one next door has 'bum creek' graffitied on the front wall...

i thought camberra was nice was only there for the weekend went to the mueseum and had a llok about and a few beers. Met some locals and also stayed in the YHA. I thought it was little dull and sterile. Nice facialitys just no atmosphere between guests.

Also whats with the sheep statues in Civic????
