I was looking at this australian government website regarding duty-free allowances, and I am a bit confused -

Oz Duty Free allowances

As I will be purchasing new items before I leave home (for Oz) will I be charged duty on arrival ?

My gear will be over the AUS$400 allowance.
For example -
Backpack €100-200
Digital camera €300-400, etc etc

Anybody got experience of this ?
