Ahh, the Western Silk Road thru exotic Xinjiang, etc - definitely one of the places in China I still want to go to. Don't know when yet, though.

Hmm...haven't done that one yet, either. I'd say start looking plenty in advance for what you're going to need to do for all of your visas. For many countries, you might have to send your passport away, then they mail it back. That could eat up a lot of time between now and August, if you need to do that multiple times.

If the countries you're planning on visiting have embassies/consulates in one city where you can do it in person, consider taking a day or two to walk around DC or wherever and do it all at once. That way you don't have to leave your passport or send it off.

I have the visa for pakistan, need more detail about hiring jeep or take bus all the way to china with stops .and how much will cost me to hire a jeep or 4x4.
